Do You Inhale Cigars? A Guide To Luxury Smoking

Smoking a cigar is an activity to be savoured. Each brand and type offers a unique experience. You can enjoy it however you like, where you feel comfortable, and with people you like to spend time with.

While each type of cigar is a unique experience, there are some tips and tricks which can help make sure that every cigar you smoke is as incredible as it can be. Here’s our guide to making every puff memorable:

Pick your location

While cigars can be enjoyed in any location where smoking is permitted, an inexperienced smoker may choose to go to a cigar lounge. Experienced and friendly staff will be on hand to advise on cigar choice and the proper process for enjoying all cigar smoking experiences. However, some may prefer home comforts and choose to enjoy their cigar in a more private setting.

How to cut a cigar

Before it is lit, a cigar is cut. A cigar cutter is used to make a clean cut at the head of the cigar (the closed end) above the cap.

It's important not to cut too deep into the cigar. If you do, the wrap may loosen. This can cause the cigar to smoke poorly.

How to light the cigar

A cigar is usually toasted before it is lit, where the flame is brought close to the foot of the cigar on the wrap to introduce some heat and prepare the tobacco for smoking.

Then, the cigar is lit properly by placing the cigar in the mouth, bringing the flame on to the foot of the cigar and allowing the tobacco to ignite while puffing to ensure the flame catches. Be sure to light all parts of the end of the cigar to achieve an even burn.

Do you inhale a cigar?

Unlike cigarettes and vapes, people generally do not inhale the smoke into their lungs. Instead, the smoker draws the smoke into the mouth and moves it around to savour the taste before exhaling. This still allows for nicotine absorption and comes with health risks.

Enjoy!

Ensure you rotate the cigar as you enjoy it, to create an even burn along the length.
